I am an entrepreneur and a professional cocktail bartender based in Helsinki Finland. My mission is to promote and develop cocktail and drinking culture here in the Nordics and beyond.
I was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland. After Sibelius high school I moved to London, UK in year 1999 to study B.A. degree in Theatre Dance at the London Studio Center. I started my bar career working at a members bar called Mondo’s in the heart of Soho. I quickly fell in love with the bright and bustling bar scene. Few years later I ended up working as a Head Bartender in Atlantic Bar & Grill, Dick’s Bar (2003-2004), maybe one of the most legendary and influential modern cocktail bars in the world. I moved back to Helsinki Finland in 2004 and founded legendary A21 Cocktail Lounge in September 2007. This road had led me to work in the global cocktail industry as a Nordic cocktail pioneer, international competition judge and a cocktail trainer in Finland and abroad.
I have been working with Pernod Ricard Finland as an industry trainer for 10 years (2007-2017) and been conducting cocktail schools for more than 10 000 consumers during the years.
I was awarded a Pro Bartender of the year award in 2010 and Best Bartender & Improver of the bar industry awards at Bartender Choice Awards 2017. I have also co-written a bartenders manual book published in Finland 2009 called 'Mikosta Mestariksi'.
My philosophy of making cocktails is that a cocktail is a harmonious combination of flavours and it's wrapped in a story. Nordic ingredients are my main source of inspiration and passion when creating modern cocktails.
